How It Works
Urgent care video visits work on your smartphone, tablet or computer. The providers you video chat with will be able to give a diagnosis, create a care plan and prescribe medications when appropriate. Every video visit is secure, private and HIPAA-compliant.
1. Schedule a time with an urgent care provider
Sign in to your child’s MyChart account to save time. Tell us the reason for the visit and schedule a visit to see an urgent care provider. Use your smartphone for the best video visit experience.
If you do not have a MyChart account, click the Schedule Visit button above. Make sure you schedule the visit under your child’s name and date of birth.
2. Check-in for your video visit before you join with the provider
You must check-in before you can start your video visit. You can make sure your child’s information is up-to-date when you eCheck-in.
3. Get treatment
After eCheck-in is completed, click the “Begin visit” button as early as 15 minutes before your visit time.

Not necessarily. We have a team of Children’s Wisconsin doctors available to treat your child for on-demand care. If your child is already a Children's Wisconsin patient, the notes from their visit will be documented in their existing medical record for their primary care provider to see.
If your child needs a prescription for the condition being treated, the doctor can send a prescription electronically to the pharmacy you select. They can also provide a school/daycare note regarding your child's condition.
For routine medication refills, you should contact your child’s primary care provider.
A summary of the visit can be found in your child's MyChart account (login here).
