Congenital heart diseases (CHD) are heart defects that develop in a baby, affecting one in every 100 babies born in the United States. There are many kinds of defects resulting in a range of problems considered mild to complex. All require careful diagnosis to ensure the correct management of the heart problem.
Patients with CHD are treated by experienced fetal, pediatric and adult heart specialists from the Herma Heart Institute team. These specialists developed many of the practices and surgical techniques used worldwide for treating the rarest and most complex congenital heart defects.
