Car crashes are a leading cuase of death for kids ages 1 to 13. Using the right care seat or booster seat, along with proper installation, helps protect kids in the event of a crash. 

Children's Wisconsin is a statewide leader in child passenger safety. We have a complete car seat program. Our child passenger safety technicians give hands-on support to teach the proper installation of car seats. 

We also serve as the lead agency for both Safe Kids Wisconsin and Safe Kids Southeast Wisconsin. This means we help guide car seat safety efforts across the state. 

Car seats and seat belts can prevent injuries and save lives when you install and use them correctly. 

• Choose a car seat based on your child's height, weight and age.
• Read all instructions to install and use the car seat the right way.
• Check when the car seat expires and know its history before you use it.
• Use a car seat correctly on every ride.
• Kids are more likely to buckle up if they see a parent or caregiver buckled up.
• Let others who drive your kids know that a car seat is a must.
